This Privacy Policy explains how Noktoo ("Noktoo," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website (noktoo.com) and mobile application (together, the "Service"). Noktoo is a community-first freelance marketplace connecting freelancers and clients in the Philippines.

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you create a Noktoo account, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored in encrypted/hashed form). If you sign in with Google, we receive basic profile information from Google (name, email, profile photo) as authorized by you.

Profile information. Information you choose to add to your profile, such as a bio, skills, portfolio links, work history, and profile photo.

Job posts and applications. Content you create when posting a job, applying for a job, or responding to a job post, including descriptions, attachments, and proposed terms.

Messages. Content you send through Noktoo's messaging feature to communicate with other users. Messages are visible to the sender and recipient(s) and to Noktoo as needed to operate, secure, and moderate the Service.

Community activity. Posts, comments, and other content you share within Noktoo communities, and records of communities you join.

Usage and device information. Information about how you use the Service, including log data, device type, operating system, app version, and approximate location derived from IP address (we do not currently collect precise GPS location).

Information from others. Other users may provide information about you — for example, if a client or freelancer leaves a review or mentions you in a job post or message.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and maintain your account
• Operate core features: job posting, applications, messaging, and communities
• Match freelancers with relevant job opportunities and vice versa
• Communicate with you about your account, transactions, and updates to the Service
• Maintain the safety, security, and integrity of the Service, including detecting fraud and abuse
• Respond to support requests
• Comply with legal obligations
• Improve and develop the Service

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

3. How We Share Your Information

With other users. Your profile information, job posts, applications, and messages are shared with the other users you interact with, as a normal function of a marketplace platform.

With service providers. We use third-party service providers to operate Noktoo, including:

• Supabase (database, authentication, and backend infrastructure) — processes data on our behalf to store and serve your account and content data.
• Hosting and infrastructure providers necessary to run the website and app.

These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and may only use it to provide services to Noktoo.

For legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Noktoo, our users, or the public.

Business transfers. If Noktoo is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy or a successor policy.

4. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you request deletion of your account (see Section 6), we will delete your personal data except where we are required to retain certain information for legitimate purposes such as fraud prevention, security, dispute resolution, or compliance with legal obligations — in which case we will retain only what is necessary and inform you if requested.

5. Your Rights

If you are in the Philippines, you have rights under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173), including the right to:

• Be informed about how your data is processed
• Access your personal data
• Object to processing of your data
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request erasure or blocking of your data
• Data portability
• Be indemnified for damages from a data breach or unauthorized processing

Users in other jurisdictions may have similar rights under applicable local law. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 9, or use our Account Deletion page to request deletion directly.

6. Account and Data Deletion

You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time:

• In the app: Go to Account Settings → Delete Account, and follow the confirmation steps.
• On the web, without logging in: Visit noktoo.com/delete-account and follow the instructions there.

When you delete your account, we permanently delete your personal data — including your profile, job posts, applications, and messages — except for information we are legally required to retain (for example, records needed for fraud prevention or to comply with law), which is retained only as long as necessary.

7. Children's Privacy

Noktoo is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a user under 18 has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

8. Security

We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures, including those provided by our infrastructure providers, to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to This Policy
